Correct Identification Essential – they will need:

  • Location and Directions
  • Species and Size
  • Historical and Current behaviour
  • Condition of Animal
  • Signs of any injury
  • A photo/video if possible

BDMLR to attend as soon as possible to assess


Necessary equipment i.e sling et to be located and requested

Public to be requested not to swim/interact/crowd the animal

Dogs are to be prohibited from entering the water close to the animal

Speed boats are not to be allowed within a designated safe area and patrolled by volunteers either in canoes or on land

If absolutely necessary small harbour launch to be used with trained medics onboard
